Ducati MPL Aluminum Clutch Basket
This clutch basket is made of 7075-T6 light weight aluminum and is suitable for all Ducatis with dry clutch. Note: If you have a steel basket then you can expect 1.5 – 2 lb savings in weight. Our baskets are machined from 7075 then T6 treated (solution based heat treated and artificialy aged). This is one of the highest strength aluminum alloys available. Its strength-to weight ratio is excellent and it is ideally used for highly stressed parts. A comparable Barnett basket is 2024 T3 (6 grades lower than ours!). Replaces the original steel basket as well as worn aluminum baskets and works with all slipper clutches. In addition to anodizing the surface is also coated with an abrasion-proof hard coating.
